Field Campaign Optimization, Sales and Marketing 

Sales Territory for a Retail service provider

To optimize the operational cost of a sales and marketing door-to-door campaign a geospatial model based on socio-economic data was developed: the "Population Purchase Power Map".

The map shows the locations - at the neighborhood level - of high-value sale areas, where representatives could find new clients to sell premium packages and for existing customers evaluate upselling opportunities. The precise definition of the sales territory boundaries was also used as a tool for the efficient distribution of the sales team.

Covering only potential high sales neighborhoods the coverage area was largely reduced (~20% of the initial area), minimizing the overall campaign cost and time frame.

Geospatial Analysis of Portugal Wildfires Shows What Actually Burned

The web map depicts the geographical extent of the 2017 Wildfires in Portugal – Central region only, using CopernicusEMS data*. 

It is estimated that over 310 000 hectares (3100 sq. km) was burned. Two of the major fires combined -  Pedrogao Grande (Leiria District) and Nelas, extended up to 265 000 ha – 86% of the total burnt area.


Map A Insights: The Land Cover Map classes that were mostly affected by these wildfires are: Forestry 47% (especially Pine trees, with 23% of total burnt extent) and Shrubland 42%, followed by Agriculture 10% and Urbanized areas with 0.5% (1460 hectares).
